The Witcher 3 isn’t done yet: A new story DLC is reportedly in development

CD Projekt Red may be working on a fresh expansion, nearly a decade after the game’s original release.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt nuevo DLC
Update:

Despite launching in 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remains one of the most beloved RPGs of all time. Its next-gen update breathed new life into the game, but now, rumors suggest CD Projekt Red isn’t finished yet.

According to reports from Insider Gaming, a new story-driven DLC is in development, potentially on the scale of Hearts of Stone or Blood and Wine.

Who’s developing the new DLC?

The expansion is reportedly being handled by Fool’s Theory, the same studio working on the remake of the original Witcher.

While details remain scarce, sources claim the earliest possible release window is next year.

The rumored CD Projekt Red roadmap suggests the following order:

  1. Console mod support for The Witcher 3.
  2. New DLC for The Witcher 3.
  3. The Witcher 4’s release.
  4. The Witcher 1 remake.

CD Projekt Red’s long-term support strategy

This wouldn’t be the first time CD Projekt Red has extended support for its games years after launch.

Cyberpunk 2077 received major updates and expansions well beyond its initial release, even arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 two years after its last DLC. If these rumors hold true, The Witcher 3 could be getting one final adventure before the franchise moves forward.
