The race to take over the 007 status on the big screen is coming to a close.
Little by little, the key elements that will revolve around the new stage of James Bond on the big screen are taking shape. We know that the director of ‘Dune’ and ‘Blade Runner 2049’ will take the reins of the project, but the most important piece is still missing: who will play 007? Variety leaks the three favorite candidates to take the desired role.

According to the aforementioned media, Amazon currently has a list with three undisputed favorites. The production company marks in red Tom Holland (‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’), Harris Dickinson (‘The Iron Claw’), and Jacob Elordi (‘Priscilla’). This completely rules out the previous creative board’s decision, which pointed to Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the choice.
The requirements for Amazon are clear: the actor must currently be under 30 years old and from the UK. Here, the only one who breaks the line is Elordi, as he is originally from Australia, but for the production company, that would not be a problem because the features are similarly accentuated.
The information points to Amazon wanting a man in that age range because the film will start shooting sometime from now. The release date they point to is sometime in 2028, which will open an eight-year gap between the Daniel Craig era and the one that will settle the future of the license.
Therefore, we say goodbye not only to Taylor-Johnson in the race to be 007 but also to other faces that had been speculated so far. We refer above all to Henry Cavill and Idris Elba, who are 42 and 52 years old, respectively. They have already crossed the red line imposed by the team.
