This area of the Elden Ring DLC was overlooked, but fans point to it as the key to the game’s greatest mystery

Many fans point out that the Elden Ring DLC map was once part of the Lands Between, the setting of the base game.

The Elden Ring DLC is dispelling some of the theories that fans have spun during their passage through the Lands Between. Many players thought that the clouds in the center of the map indicated access to Shadow of the Erdtree. Ultimately, it was the Mohgwyn Palace that was the place to travel to the Land of Shadows, though that central area has not dispelled its mystery. Fans have come up with a fascinating theory that makes sense of how the world was created.

The Elden Ring DLC area that is fueling conspiracy theories among fans

It all stems from a location on the Realm of Shadow map. In the initial area, there is a giant pillar called the Suppressing Tower. When you get there, you activate an elevator that takes you to the top, where you will find a chest containing an ancient Dragon Forge Stone, a key material for upgrading a basic weapon to level +25, the maximum allowed on that scale.

But next to the chest is a tombstone with the following message: “The center of the lands between. All manner of death washes up here, only to be repressed.” Strangely, in order to read it, we have to place the camera at a point where the sky opens with a special color. At dawn or dusk, only this part of the sky is illuminated with the characteristic color of the Lands Between: gold.

The reference to the base map is no coincidence. When we superimpose the two maps, the location of the column coincides with the center of the Lands Between, those clouds in the center of the map that supposedly cover the sea.

To many, the Land of Shadow is the antithesis of the Lands Between. Two worlds once connected. Who caused the separation? Probably Marika, in her plan to become a deity after the fall of the meteorites that brought the Fingers and the rest of the elements from beyond the stars. Before the existence of the Shadow of the Erdtree was known, the references to Messmer the Impaler pointed to a lost history hidden by those who ruled the Order of the Circle. It is clear that they wanted to erase the area’s existence.

But the most disturbing thing comes next. Many users have noticed that several fingers are clearly visible on the map, as if the map were the palm of a hand. Three of them match the ruins of the Fingers in the DLC.
