This impressive Pokémon TCG championship collection could be yours for just $9 million!
The man who collected all the Pokémon TCG World Championship trophy cards is now selling them.

Over the years, the Pokémon World Championship has given us many items to covet, from exclusive merchandise to museum-worthy items. But beyond what attendees can purchase from the official store or what competitors receive for participating, there is a treasure that very few have held in their hands: the trophy cards awarded to the world championship finalists. Now, after two decades of dedication, one collector has decided to put a collection like no other up for sale.
One of the rarest cards in the Pokémon TCG
For 20 years, David Persin has been collecting all the trophy cards that the Pokémon World Championship finalists have received in the card game. These cards are unique: they are only given to those who make it to the podium of the world’s most important tournament. His collection includes a total of 67 cards delivered throughout all editions of the championship, from its inception in 2004 in Orlando, Florida, to the most recent in 2024 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The archive includes first, second, third and fourth place cards - when there has been such a category - from each of the years.
However, his owner has come to the conclusion that it is time to pass on these limited cards to some other fan. The reason is that, at the age of 64, Persin comments that his health is not what it used to be and that he is now more committed than ever to his family. And since his children are not interested in continuing the hobby of collecting Pokémon cards, he is looking for a collector who likes these cards as much as he does.
Currently, this collection is on eBay with a price tag of $9 million, although this is a high price Persin has set for his collection to prevent someone from getting their hands on these cards. “My ‘real’ price is not as high as shown on eBay but I was worried someone crazy might hit the purchase button there,” he comments in his Instagram post. Of course, anyone who wants to get their hands on this legendary collection will have to pick it up personally in Las Vegas, as Persin is not willing to risk his treasure by sending it by courier.
