This is how Starfield begins: The time has come to travel to the far reaches of the galaxy

Todd Howard introduces us to the vast universe of his new RPG, which will be released on September 6th.

Update:
Starfield

Starfield is not playable at Gamescom, but we attended a presentation in which not only appeared Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division but also Todd Howard, director of the expected new Bethesda IP. The creator of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim also showed how the first minutes of the game are, a beginning that outlines the story and the identity of our protagonist.

In the beginning, two strangers examine your physical and psychological condition. The maxim is to reach the objectives safely but to take a good wad of cash for each contract. The three of them get into the elevator leading to the mines and put their helmets on their heads: breathe normally and under no circumstances take them off. They pass through an area full of workers, a place where a kind of bulldozer gobbles up pieces of earth next to them. At that moment, they suddenly notice a strange anomaly. Danger in sight? Danger in sight!

The protagonist equips himself with some tools, enters a narrow opening, and examines a glowing material. Then a beam of light shines in front of his eyes and he falls unconscious. The next thing he remembers is one of his companions waking him up. You are the new recruit of the Argos Extractors faction, so it’s time to create your character. As you can see from other videos, the editor is quite complex and offers a lot of options, both aesthetically and in terms of gameplay.

In Starfield, the battle is fought on land and in space.

The protagonist wanders through the mess hall and steals a sandwich from a guy eating in the diner, who complains without much exaggeration. He puts his helmet back on, goes outside, and a ship lands in the hangar. They are allies. But something goes wrong: another ship approaches and it is an enemy ship. A fierce battle begins and ends with the enemy soldiers biting the dust, although some of them flee before the first shot leaves the cannon. With no time to wait, the character climbs aboard one of the ships and pursues the bad guys. On the screen, a crosshair surrounded by a circle: he takes aim, and boom, stellar garbage. It didn’t take him long.

It’s time to set a course for Alpha Centauri. Access the galaxy map, select your destination, and choose from the various landing points available. Once on the planet, the doors of the library will open and we will come face to face with the Constellation, one of the factions available in Starfield.

Starfield launches on September 6th for Xbox One, Xbox One S, Game Pass, and PC. Early access will begin on September 1st.
