One of the most anticipated new features for fans of Niantic’s popular Android and iOS game has arrived in Pokémon GO: Party Play. Pokémon GO Party Play allows us to get together with several of our friends to play cooperatively. Here’s everything you need to know about Party Play in Pokémon GO, including how to use it and what it’s for:
What is Pokémon GO Party Play?: all the features
According to a press release, Pokémon GO Party Play is a new feature available on October 17, 2023, that allows a group of up to four Trainers to play cooperatively to go on adventures and complete challenges together.
Trainers who are in the same play session will also appear together on the map. This is one of the biggest changes to Pokémon GO in years, and one of the most requested features by players.
During a Party Play session in Pokémon GO, we can check our team’s progress and other details in the “Party” tab of the trainer’s profile or under the PokéStop icon on the map. For example, we can see how many Pokémon we have caught as a group, how many Poké Balls we have thrown, and more.
The new “Welcome Party” special research will allow us to get exclusive Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon T-shirts, perfect for joining our friends.
What can we do in Pokémon GO Party Play?
Pokémon GO Party Play allows us to do all of the following:
- Up to four Trainers can go on adventures together. To do this, you must be at least level 15.
- We can join teams of Trainers to go on adventures.
- We can share our achievements so that everyone can see the highlights of each adventure.
- Challenges can be completed as part of a Party. This eases the burden of the most difficult tasks.
- By being part of a party and participating in raids, charged attacks do double the damage.
How do we enable Party Play in Pokémon GO to play with our friends?
Here is how to enable Party Play in Pokémon GO:
- Open Pokémon GO and tap our Trainer avatar’s icon.
- Go to the new “Party” tab.
- Tap “Create”.
- The game will generate a number code or QR code that we can share with up to three Trainers who are nearby.
- Tap Start when our friends have joined and we can play with them.
How do I join a Party Play session in Pokémon GO to play together?
Here is how to join a Party Play session in Pokémon GO:
- Open Pokémon GO and tap our Trainer avatar’s icon.
- Go to the new “Party” tab.
- Tap “Join Party”. We have to scan the QR code of the organizing Trainer or enter their numerical code.
- Wait for the group creator to start the game.
