This is the episode of ‘Solo Leveling’ that posed the greatest challenge to its creator
An unforgettable moment in ‘Solo Leveling’.

‘Solo Leveling’ has become the great phenomenon in anime today. The adaptation of Chugong’s manhwa has been a huge success that has only been confirmed with a second season that has improved on the first in every way, with a superior animation quality that has been a challenge for the production team. But what was the most challenging episode to produce so far? Sota Furuhashi and Atsushi Kaneko, lead producer and animation producer of the series, recently revealed it on Reddit.
“Episode 24 really stood out for me. I don’t recall the exact average, but most Solo Leveling episodes typically had around 8,000 to 10,000 frames. Episode 24 had about 17,000—which completely eclipses the others. I mentioned this on X as well, but the scene where Jinwoo is fighting everyone, with the red and blue representing the conflict and the purple background setting the tone—it was incredibly moving. It felt like Jinwoo had crossed into something even deeper, into another side of himself entirely,” responds Atsushi Kaneko, animation producer of ‘Solo Leveling’ on Reddit.

A fight that lived up to the hype
Episode 24 animated the long-awaited battle between Jinwoo and King Ant, one of the most iconic moments in the manhwa. It was not only the best fight of the series so far, but also the most complex to animate. The emotional intensity, use of color, and technical quality made this episode a true achievement for the ‘Solo Leveling’ team.
