‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ premiered on Netflix on June 20. A success of this magnitude couldn’t be limited to a single installment, so the sequel is already in development, and its director, Maggie Kang, explained in an interview with Deadline what the main challenge facing the second installment is.
The biggest challenge facing the upcoming sequel to ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’ is the immense pressure to live up to the first installment, which is already considered a classic. Comparisons will be inevitable from the very start, though Kang remains determined to make the new film “fresh, surprising, and original.” From now on, according to the director, everything related to the franchise must maintain a standard of “high quality.”
