This is the new map for Shock ‘N Awesome, the new season of Fortnite
Shock ‘N Awesome is the new season of Fortnite, available from Thursday, August 7, 2025. This new stage of the game has brought with it a new map full of changes and new features, which you can see below:
As usual, this map is based on last season’s map, but with some locations added and modified. Locations from previous seasons remain, including those from the ‘Star Wars’ season. The theme of the season is an invasion of bugs, which has led to the emergence of the new O.X.R. faction to face this terrifying new threat.
In summary, the new season of Fortnite renews its map without drastic changes, but with enough new features to keep players interested. This new season will last the usual three months, so it is possible that, as it progresses, we will see more changes on the island. Below is a summary of the new areas:
O.X.R. HQ
The troops are stationed in the barracks of the O.X.R. headquarters. Here you will find the O.X.R. commanders in the operations center of the main building and the O.X.R. armory, where you can purchase weapons and other items with bars.
The Hive
The reconnaissance party detects heavy insect activity in The Hive. It is impossible to avoid encountering the swarm, and direct confrontation is not recommended without first stocking up on ammunition.
Ranger’s Ruin
Ranger’s Ruin should serve as a warning. Once a bustling weapons lab for the O.X.R., the base was lost to the infestation. Needless to say, it’s full of high-quality loot, as long as you don’t mind getting your hands dirty.

As you can see, the new Fortnite map has added completely new locations that are full of hidden nooks and crannies to discover and loot to obtain. Although the new areas are focused on the ongoing war against the bugs, the areas returning from previous seasons continue to offer different themed and varied aesthetic enclaves, such as dojos, Japanese temples, decaying cities, and feudal-era fortresses. In other words, this new season further accentuates this feeling of a “cocktail” of different themes.

When does the new Fortnite season begin? Date and times
The Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4, titled Shock ‘N Awesome, kicks off next Thursday, August 7 at 1:30 AM ET. This date and time correspond to the following times across the United States:
- 1:30 AM ET
- 12:30 AM CT
- 10:30 PM PT
In order to enjoy the content of the new season, we will have to download patch 37.00, which is the one that will bring all the new features. Once this is done, we will have to wait a few hours for Epic Games to restore the servers after implementing all these changes. In the worst-case scenario, if there are any unforeseen problems, it is possible that Fortnite will be offline for a day or even more.
