Great news for movie lovers. ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is heading to the Disney+ catalog after its theatrical release in the middle of the 2024 holiday season. The news comes as an exclusive from the website People, which brings forward the date in the United States.

Premiere date for ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ on Disney+

‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ will premiere on Disney+ on March 26th. All subscription plans will receive the movie with no restrictions.

The prequel to ‘The Lion King’ is “shrouded in nostalgia”

With these words, our colleagues in Spain opened their review last December 20. We talked about how the technical muscle perfectly accompanies the notes of nostalgia for those who grew up with the saga: “The movie goes straight from the beginning: we know who the characters are and what will happen at the end, but we don’t know how or when. The classic tunes of the saga play in the background while the most emotional scenes take place on screen. It is the nostalgia that beats in the chest of a room full of children, elders and grandparents who cry when the tragedy happens, regardless of whether the event has a happy or sad ending. In that moment, you realize that your inner child has come out; the child who grew up watching these movies and can’t get over certain outcomes.
