There is a little less than a month left before we’re able to enjoy NBA 2K24 on consoles and PC, and as usual, the first thing we learn about it are the ratings of some of the most prominent players in it. But while the top 10 players are being celebrated as they should, a new wave of rookies are starting to get the recognition they deserve, like Victor Wembanyama, better known by fans as Wemby.

The San Antonio Spurs’ newcomer is under the tutelage of Gregg Popovich, and has already begun to give his first steps in a league that is sure to bring tons of excitement for fans of the NBA. Wembanyama was highly sought after by several teams before joining the Spurs, and as such came to be known as the “No.1 pick” of the season. Now we know what NBA 2K24 has rated him.

Wembanyama’s player rating is currently the highest-ever rating for a league rookie, managing to achieve a higher rating than the previous holder of the record, the Pelicans’ Zion Williamson, who at the time received a rating of 81. And just as an extra, his rating isn’t even that far from some of the top players in the game. Kawhi, Lillard, and Booker hold a 04 rating, which means he’s dangerously close with only 10 points between them.

Which players have the best rankings in NBA 2K24?

From the official Twitter/X account of NBA 2K24, the first ones have been revealed and we can already establish a Top 10 that, how could it be otherwise, is led by the Serbian Nikola Jokic, leader of the defending champion, the Denver Nuggets.

The Joker stands out with a huge 98, one of the best ratings ever reached by very few in the franchise’s history, but very understandable considering that the Balkan hardly has any weak points. There are few aspects that Jokic does not dominate. Just below we find another international player, Giannis Antetokounmpo, who looks unfazed by his early elimination in the past playoffs at the hands of the Miami Heats, and who stands with a not-inconsiderable 96.

Age does not matter for LeBron James, who continues being the King and who also has a 96. Other players with the same rating are Stephen Curry and Joel Embiid. Surprisingly, Jimmy Butler, the fierce forward of the Heats, has slipped into the Top 10 for the first time in his career with a 95 that reflects his fabulous performance in the last qualifying rounds for the title.
