This Pokémon TCG card is a special prize in a raffle in China, with a value that exceeds expectations
An edition of the trainer card is part of the opening of an official Pokémon TCG store in Guangzhou.

Throughout its 15 expansions, the Scarlet & Violet series of Pokémon TCG has shown us all kinds of cards and rekindled the flame for card collecting. And certainly, that value for the collection is universal, no matter where you are in the world. Within these collections, there is one card that will certainly become very special, and that is the Special Art rare card of Iono, which has a very special print run in China.
This is the Iono card being raffled off in China, and its local value is higher than you might imagine
As part of the opening of an official Pokémon store in the Guangzhou district—the Pokémon TCG Official Gym—exclusive raffles are being held for customers. The crown jewel of this raffle is a Special Art rare version of the Iono card, as seen in the Paldean Fates expansion. The interesting thing about the Qíshù card, as this gym leader and streamer is known in China, is that only 1,500 copies were printed.

The low print run means that the store itself values this card at between 3,000 and 4,000 yuan, equivalent to between $420 and $560 USD. This figure far exceeds the value of the English versions on sites such as Price Charting, where the same card, ungraded, is priced at $26.74. Interestingly, the version found in Paldea Evolved is the most valuable, reaching a value of $50.21.
What does Iono do in Pokémon TCG?
The Iono card debuted in the Paldea Evolved expansion, the first in this series, and has since become a key part of the current meta. It is a Supporter-type Trainer card whose effect forces both players to shuffle their hands, place them at the bottom of their decks, and draw a number of cards equal to their remaining prizes. This mechanic is useful in two scenarios: when you don’t have what you need in your hand to continue with your strategy, or when you want to ruin your opponent’s next move. Its impact has been so great that it has been reprinted multiple times and remains one of the most influential cards in the series.
