Thunderbolts moves up its release date on the MCU’s calendar
The next Marvel Cinematic Universe anti-hero/villain movie will arrive earlier than expected.
The Fantastic Four cast announcement wasn’t the only announcement from Marvel Studios, as one of their upcoming films, Thunderbolts, has had its release date updated.
Previously scheduled for July 25, 2025, Thunderbolts will now be released on May 2, 2025. For those of you keeping track of the MCU release schedule, you will notice that this upcoming movie has swapped dates with The Fantastic Four.
So far, the movie about this particular group of characters has had its problems in its development. It is worth remembering that Thunderbolts had to interrupt its production due to last year’s actors and screenwriters strike, which pushed back its previous release date of December 20, 2024 (in different circumstances, the movie would premiere on July 2024). Earlier this year, Steven Yeun left the project in which he would play Sentry, just 2 months after his participation was officially announced.
The MCU release schedule for 2024, 2025 and beyond

For now, this is what the universe will look like in the near future:
