TikTok says goodbye to the United States, disappearing from Apple and Google App stores, and with a sad message
For now, it remains to wait for a resolution from the upcoming administration.

Update: TikTok has returned to the US, for a while. Here Is TikTok’s official statement:
“We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.”TikTok is coming back online for US users Sunday, just hours after President-elect Donald Trump pledged that he would sign an executive order on Monday that aims to restore the banned app.The whiplash move to bring the app back comes after TikTok became unusable for Americans late Saturday night. Users who tried to open the app at that time were met with a message saying it was offline and asking users to “stay tuned.”“In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive,” the company said in a statement Sunday. “We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.”

After much speculation about what would happen to the social platform TikTok, the moment of its closure in the United States has happened. Users in the country report that the application is no longer available in the Apple and Google stores, and a message about its closure appears when opening the application.
The unstoppable shutdown of TikTok in the United States
For more than 170 million Americans, the application stopped working at 10:00 PM ET, taking a few hours away from users in other time zones in the country. The application, which is owned by China’s ByteDance, has faced problems for several years from some members of the U.S. government, who have tried to shut it down several times. It was only a few months ago that they were successful, leaving the Chinese company to find a way to find an ally in the United States to sell the brand and thus continue its use. For now, one of the people who has raised their hand to rescue the platform is YouTuber MrBeast.
While the app continues to work in other countries in the region, such as Canada and Mexico, users in the United States are currently faced with a message that reads: “A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok for now. We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate TikTok once he takes office. Please stay tuned.”

Recently, President-elect Donald Trump told NBC that he would “most likely” ask for a 90-day extension for TikTok to find a company to take over its U.S. operations, though it’s an option that’s still up in the air at the moment. “The 90-day extension is something that will be most likely done, because it’s appropriate. If I decide to do that, I’ll probably announce it on Monday.”
Also, good bye CapCut
Along with TikTok, other ByteDance apps also disappeared from the App Stores. The Editing app CapCut and lifestyle app Lemon8 had also shut down in the US. As the ban is affecting their parent company, these other apps will also suffer the consequences from the ban.
