Tim Burton and Johnny Depp working together again? The director talks about the possibility
Tim Burton’s filmography has many recognizable faces, but few as legendary as Johnny Depp. Could they ever work together again?
Tim Burton is one of the most charismatic directors in the history of cinema, with many films behind him and a very personal style; several actors have passed through his works over the years. One of the most notable is Johnny Depp, and after ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’, the possibility of seeing the director and actor reunited again in the sequel to one of his legendary films seemed to be among the possibilities, but Burton has taken it upon himself to close that door, but not before declaring that, of course, he would work again with Depp.
During an interview with IndieWire, Burton responded to the question of whether he will have the opportunity to work with Depp again “I’m sure there will be.” During the Marrakech International Film Festival, the director acknowledged that he never thinks that “I am going to use this or that actor,” highlighting that everything has to “be based on the project I am doing.” Furthermore, based on the future possibility of working with Depp, he confessed that “there are certain films that I don’t want to make a sequel to,” referring to the fact that he sees certain works as something unique, and among them is ‘Edward Scissorhands’.
An outstanding filmography between Tim Burton and Johnny Depp
There are multiple films in which the renowned director and the charismatic actor have collaborated: ‘Edward Scissorhands’, ‘Ed Wood’, ‘Sleepy Hollow’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’... A total of 9 productions, all of them recognized, and which in the future aim to go further with the director’s clear intention of once again having his favorite artist.
