Comedy Central pushes back the latest airing of the show

Today’s episode of South Park is delayed, but not because of any controversy
Update:

South Park returned a few weeks ago for Season 27 and has managed to capture the current political climate in ways that only the series can. The season, however, has had a special twist, in that the episodes have not been weekly and have taken a while to arrive. And even though a new episode was expected today, Comedy Central had to delay it hours before its premiere.

Although last week the show was targeted by MAGA conservatives due to a recent episode mocking Charlie Kirk, and the episode in question had to be pulled from broadcast due to his murder, this time it’s not a controversy that Trey Parker and Matt Stone have to turn around; they simply didn’t have it ready in time.

This was shared in a statement to Variety, where the duo mentioned “Apparently when you do everything at the last minute sometimes you don’t get it done This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time. Thanks to Comedy Central and South Park fans for being so understanding. Tune in next week!”

When will the next episode of South Park be released?

‘South Park’ will return to the air on September 24 before two weeks off. Then, the series will continue dropping new episodes every other Wednesday from Oct. 15 to Dec. 10.

A series that unfolds week by week

Although the only time Parker and Stone have missed an episode was due to a power outage, this is the first time that time was not enough for the duo. It should be noted that South Park episodes, unlike other animated series, are created week by week in order to be as close and fresh as possible to what is happening in the world. This can create a chaotic experience, which is why the series became biweekly, allowing the studio more time to develop each episode.
