Tom Hardy talks about a possible return as Bane in James Gunn’s new DCU

Would Tom Hardy, currently the man behind Eddie Brock and Venom, be willing to return to the DC Universe as Bane? Here’s what he said.

Tom Hardy Bane

Now that Tom Hardy is done with the symbiote after ‘Venom: The Last Dance’, the actor is open to other projects. As such, he’s been linked to the rumored DC movie starring Deathstroke and Bane. Hardy played Bane in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, the finale of the Batman trilogy by Christopher Nolan in which he had the difficult role of succeeding the Joker as the antagonist of the Dark Knight. Thankfully, his performance was very well received, although the role played by Heath Ledger before him continues to be unforgettable.

Tom Hardy would love to become Bane again

After Bane’s disappointing appearance in ‘Batman & Robin’, one of Batman’s most lethal villains had to make amends, something that Hardy achieved by taking Bruce Wayne to the limit, even leaving him very battered and broken, honoring one of the best stories of the character ever, ‘Bane’s Revenge’.

Hardy was recently asked about the possibility of becoming Bane again, something that the actor emphatically welcomed, although he would prefer to leave it in the hands of another actor. “Oh, hell yeah. I’d love to”, he said. “But I don’t know if that’s for me. I did my run, let somebody else have a go.”

For the moment, we will be able to enjoy Tom Hardy’s farewell to the Symbiote anti-hero in ‘Venom: The Last Dance’. “A road trip movie with no greater pretensions than to offer a couple of touching moments, a lot of humor, and a final battle to match,” said our colleague David Arroyo. in his criticism of the movie. “We all imagine something darker, sadistic, and thuggish when thinking about the character, but there is also something peaceful and contagious in this more playful tone,” he says.
