Tom Holland reveals there’s a group chat with every Spider-Man, claims spoilers weren’t his fault this time
The actor behind the MCU’s Spider-Man revealed that spoilers for No Way Home were his co-workers’ fault this time, and that there’s a group chat with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Tom Holland, the famous actor who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the MCU, is also known as “spoiler-boy” due to revealing several secrets of upcoming Marvel Studios films in recent years, in a display of innocence and carelessness. Although spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home were not his fault; This was recognized in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he pointed out that several of his cast mates facilitated the rumor mill and spoilers about the long-awaited Spider-Man film.
The “Spider-Boys” group chat is real
After months of rumors and leaks of all kinds, it seemed like an open secret that in Spider-Man: No Way Home the three cinematic Spider-Men would appear together in the big screen. Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield together as their respective characters, a milestone that positioned the film among the highest-grossing in history. Although this time it was not Tom Holland’s fault: “To be perfectly honest with you, I was actually the best at keeping secrets on that third movie [No Way Home]. Andrew got caught ordering [food delivery], Tobey got caught somehow, Alfred Molina was telling people in the supermarket that he was doing the new Spider-Man show, Willem Dafoe got photographed at the airport, so I was the one who actually kept the secrets.”
Of course, the statements made by Alfred Molina about his participation in the new Spider-Man movie before even the famous reveal trailer surprised everyone. Even Jamie Foxx, who returned as Electro, posted an illustration featuring his character facing three Spider-Mans. This time, the No Way Home leaks were not a matter of Tom “spoiler” Holland.
On the other hand, in this same interview, the actor admits that he has a group chat with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield with which to keep in touch with all of them, called Spider-Boys: “Myself, Andrew, Tobey — we have this amazing bond as three people who have been through something that is so unique that we really are like brothers,” says Holland. “We have a great group chat and we catch up every now and then. It’s called the Spider-Boys”, concludes the actor.
