Tom Holland wants Spider-Man: Brand New Day to meet audience expectations even though the producers are “absolutely sick of me”

The actor says he spent years “sifting through the internet” to make sure Brand New Day delivers what the community truly wants.

Update:

One of the most anticipated films of 2026 is the next installment in the MCU, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The character is one of the most beloved in comics and popular culture, and Tom Holland, concerned with delivering a new installment that lives up to fans’ expectations, has shared his experience in this regard.

During an interview with LADBible, the English actor commented that he has spent time “sifting through the internet” to see what the public wants for a fourth Spider-Man movie. This information has been part of his discussions with producers to make this a “movie worthy of the last film.

“I think with anything, it’s all about what’s in front of you, and right now what’s in front of us is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and focusing on making that movie worthy of the last film. I have been actively sifting through the internet and trying to best understand what it is that the fans want from a Spider-Man movie, and that’s been my driving force in these pitch meetings,” mentioned Holland. “I think the producers, at times were like, absolutely sick of me, but I think it’s really important, because we make these movies for [the fans].”

Spider-Man 4 is already in production

The arachnid movie is currently being filmed in Glasgow, Scotland. Details are scarce at this point, but part of the cast that will appear alongside Holland has been confirmed. The film will feature John Bernthal (Punisher), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), and Sadie Sink (in a role yet to be confirmed). Directing the film is Daniel Cretton, who already has experience in the MCU with ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.’. The film will hit theaters (if nothing drastic happens on Marvel Studios) on July 31, 2026.
