Two weeks ago, Marvel fans were alarmed by the accident involving Tom Holland, the actor who plays Spider-Man/Peter Parker in the MCU, while filming ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ in which he suffered a severe blow to the head. The actor was taken to hospital and production was halted until further notice. Apparently, Holland, 29, suffered a minor concussion at the Leavesden film studios in Warford, UK, and was taken to the hospital, where he received medical attention.

“Never believe what is written in the newspapers”

Although the actor did suffer a head injury and was taken to hospital where he spent the night under observation, Tom Holland was able to resume filming after a week’s rest without any major setbacks. Now, Tom Holland’s father, Dominic Holland, has sought to refute the seriousness of the situation reported by many media outlets, denying that his son suffered a “horrendous injury” and pointing to the most sensationalist newspapers for false reports about the incident.

This was confirmed in an article published on the website of The Brothers Trust, the charity run by the actor’s parents: “They had almost everything wrong, citing an ambulance driver who had picked up the ‘stricken star’ from Leavesden Film Studios in North London. Er… there was no ambulance, and Spider-Man Brand New Day is not being filmed at Leavesden Studio,” says Tom Holland’s father.

“Perhaps this mystery ambulance driver had a concussion also.,” he adds ironically. He also points out the errors regarding a “mystery woman was also injured in the accident…” According to Dominic Holland, his son did suffer a blow to the head and went to the hospital “as a precaution,” as well as spending the night in a “posh hospital.”

The fact is that Tom Holland was seen the next day at a charity gala: “The evening before our event, Nikki took a call from Tom with the news that he’d banged his head at work and was heading to a hospital, but only as a precaution,” his father continues, quoting his wife and Tom’s mother, Nikki.

“We went to bed not imagining that our gala dinner – nine months in the planning – was going to be short of its star host. In the morning, we learned that Tom had spent the night in hospital, albeit a posh hospital without the interminable waits that ordinary Joe’s endure, and yet we still didn’t panic. Just a mild concussion, he’ll be fine, and he was. He arrived at Christie’s on time because Hollands are never late. He didn’t feel great, but he assured us that he was fine,” Tom Holland’s father continues.

At the dinner, Holland asked to leave early because he was apparently not feeling well, with actress Zendaya, his partner, taking his place for the rest of the evening. Keep in mind that with concussion, two things to avoid are bright lights and excessive noise,” his father concludes. All in all, filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues without major setbacks following the full recovery of its star, Tom Holland.
