I Am Legend

It is a dystopian science fiction film based on the book of the same name by Richard Matheson, focusing on Neville, the last human in New York, as he tries to survive the nocturnal mutants that now inhabit the world. The film grossed a total of $585.4 million worldwide.  It received generally positive reviews on Metacritic, although it was also heavily criticized for scientific issues in the way the disease was treated. Currently, a sequel to the film is expected to begin filming, with Will Smith returning and Michael B. Jordan in the lead role.

Dawn of the Dead

The feature film is based on the 1978 film of the same name by George A. Romero. The story focuses on a group of people who take refuge in a shopping mall in the face of a massive zombie plague. The film, directed by Zack Synder, introduced variations from the original film in terms of the zombies’ movement, which is faster, as well as intrinsic aspects of the plot and its characters.

In the awards and recognitions section, we highlight the Academy Award nomination for Best Sound Effects, a BAFTA nomination for Best Sound, and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score. We also find Delicatessen (1991), a movie set in a post-apocalyptic apartment building in a France of a vague era. According to Fox, it is artistically a new version of the story and has no relation to the Planet of the Apes saga (1968-1973) or Tim Burton’s version released in 2001, but as such is a reboot of the franchise. Tied in the rating, we find two other productions such as Zombieland (2009) and Train to Busan (2016).

Released on a now distant October 1, ‘68, this piece is considered by most to be the creator and master of the zombie (walking dead) movie sub-genre.

The movie is set in 2027, in a dystopian future where 18 years of human infertility has brought society to the brink of collapse. Illegal immigrants seek refuge in the United Kingdom, whose last functioning government imposes oppressive immigration laws on refugees. Owen plays Theo Faron, a civil servant who must help a refugee (Clare-Hope Ashitey) escape the chaos.

12 Monkeys
