Toy Story 5 reveals its first trailer, reminding us that toys are forever
“Our mission on this planet is to make a child happy.”

Just four months ago, Pixar showed us the first teaser for Toy Story 5, and there were things that didn’t add up... but now it all makes sense. Toy Story is back, with a perspective that shows us how technology can take away what is ours, in this case, how toys can lose the attention of their humans.
Times may change, but friends are forever
Approximately two minutes long, Toy Story 5 shows us Bonnie, now eight years old, receiving a tablet, Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee), forever changing the interaction between humans and their toys. In a moment of desperation, Jessie contacts Woody again, and that is why the toys are reunited.
The description on YouTube reads as follows: “The toys are back and this time, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad (voice of Greta Lee), a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie. Will playtime ever be the same? The trailer also teases the anticipated reunion of Woody and Buzz following Woody’s decision to leave the gang and start helping lost toys at the end of 2019’s ‘Toy Story 4.’ As the toys face the tech devices of today, it’s going to be all hands on deck with some familiar and all-new characters.”
References to the age of the toys and Hamm’s characteristic sarcasm remain present in this installment.
