Twitch has long been known for its community, frenetic and energetic broadcasts, and video game content. But in recent years, the streaming service has evolved into something more, and is now one of the places where creators are looking to create change, raise awareness, and give back to those who need it most beyond the screen. One of the key causes that has benefited from this shift is Save the Children, an organization dedicated to ensuring that every child, everywhere in the world, has the opportunity for a healthy and happy future.

In 2024, streamers from all over Latin America have come together to support this important cause, using their broadcasts not only to entertain, but to do good. Among them are Aruzeya, Estailus, Lilithnefilim, LizHeidern, Lordjirall, Marynee, Pujidos_90, RoboLau, and Saikenjuega. All have brought their communities together to raise funds, spread awareness, and make a tangible difference in the lives of children around the world.

How did Twitch support these initiatives?

For its part, Twitch has further supported these efforts by featuring these charitable broadcasts on its homepage, amplifying their reach. Through their actions, these creators are demonstrating that streaming can be much more than a recreational activity: it can be a powerful tool for social change.

Twitch’s global reach continues to grow. In 2024, more than 879 million hours were streamed and viewers watched a staggering 20.35 billion hours of content. With more than 2.5 million people tuning in at any given time, Twitch is positioned as one of the most dynamic and engaging streaming services for creators and viewers alike. Broadcasting in 35 languages, it connects millions around the world, allowing ideas, causes and stories to transcend borders and cultures. 70% of the audience is Gen Z and Millennial, making it an ideal space to engage a younger, socially conscious audience. Live charity events on Twitch are changing the way causes connect with their followers, reaching a generation that values authenticity and active participation. A new face of charity is emerging, one that thrives on passion, participation, and community.

What is Twitch’s Together for Good?

In line with this, the initiative continues to bring streamers and their communities together to support charitable causes through live-streamed events. This initiative has helped raise awareness, funds, and a sense of unity, further demonstrating Twitch’s role in driving social impact.

On the other hand, Pontus Eskilsson, VP of Global Partnerships at Twitch, points out that “At Twitch, we’re proud to see our communities come together for causes that matter. Initiatives like Twitch for Good show how creators across the world are making a real impact, especially in supporting organizations like Save the Children. It’s a testament to the power of passion, authenticity, and collective action.”

What makes Twitch truly unique is the strength of its communities. The power of the streaming service lies not only in the entertainment it provides, but also in its ability to bring people together around a common purpose. Creators are harnessing this collective energy and using their influence to raise funds, advocate for important causes, and inspire their audiences to take action. This growing trend highlights how Twitch streamers are transforming their roles from entertainers to activists, making a significant contribution to a better future.
