TwitchCon 2025: Twitch makes streaming easier and more profitable for creators thanks to AI
AI-driven Auto Clips and sponsorship integration headline TwitchCon 2025 announcements.

TwitchCon San Diego 2025 is in full swing, celebrating its 10th anniversary with a keynote from CEO Dan Clancy that has signaled the platform’s continued commitment to streamer growth and community discovery. The key updates, which include innovative broadcasting technology and new monetization and moderation tools, are designed to lower the barrier to entry and amplify content for a broader audience, reinforcing the priorities outlined in this year’s open letter to creators.
New Broadcasting Tools for Mobile and Discovery
The most significant announcements center on new ways for streamers to create and share their content. Starting next week, Twitch will move into a Beta phase for Dual-Format Streaming. This feature is a game-changer, allowing streamers to broadcast in both traditional horizontal format and mobile-friendly vertical format at the same time. This simple yet powerful addition ensures that a streamer’s content is optimized for viewers regardless of whether they are watching on a desktop or their phone, immediately improving the viewing experience and reach.
On the post-stream content front, Twitch is introducing Auto Clips, a smart new feature that leverages AI and signals from the broadcast to automatically generate clips of the stream’s best moments. This powerful tool removes the manual labor of editing, making it far easier for creators to catch up on and share missed highlights, significantly boosting their discoverability across all social platforms.

Creator Support and Community Safety
Twitch is also expanding its support for creators who wish to monetize their streams. The success of streamer-led promotions, which have already increased gifting revenue for medium-sized creators by an average of 30-45%, has prompted Twitch to promise more of these opportunities later this year. Furthermore, the platform is working to connect all monetizing streamers, including Affiliates, with more direct sponsorship offers in the coming months by onboarding more advertisers and third-party deals.
In a vital move for channel management and safety, Twitch is introducing two new roles in November. The first is for Agents, Managers, or other representatives, who will be granted access to a streamer’s analytics and financial information to assist with the business side of their brand. The second is the Lead Moderator role, which will empower trusted community members with the ability to manage the channel’s moderation settings and onboard or remove other moderators. This structured approach helps growing creators delegate essential but time-consuming responsibilities.

Finally, in a major shift for platform policy, Twitch is updating its system for community guideline violations. For most offenses, the suspension will now specifically apply to the violating behavior, rather than completely blocking a streamer’s access to the entire Twitch service.
