Two iconic X-Men are coming to Marvel Rivals: here’s what we know so far

While the May 30 update introduces the formidable Ultron, hints in the game files suggest that the charismatic mutants will arrive soon.

Marvel Rivals Análisis Review
Update:

The long-awaited Marvel Rivals 2.5 update is about to arrive this May 30. It comes loaded with fresh content, new features, cosmetics and, what many are most excitedly awaiting, the arrival of a new playable character: Ultron. But the debut of the iconic villain is not the only thing that has the community on alert.

More mutants are on the way to Marvel Rivals

Recently, the well-known data miner X0X_LEAK discovered a series of pre-fight dialogue lines in the game’s archives that hint at the potential arrival of two popular mutants: Rogue and Gambit. For now, the recorded interactions are one-sided, suggesting that these characters’ voices have not yet been added or finalized.

The phrases reveal very particular interactions. For example, Storm calls Gambit by his real name, Remy, and wistfully recalls “simpler times,” highlighting the closeness between the two within the X-Men universe. Other characters, such as Peni Parker, address him simply as “Gambit” and ask him questions about his iconic deck of cards.

In Rogue’s case, conversations revolve around her iconic ability to absorb powers. Rocket Raccoon, true to his sarcastic humor, even asks her if she can also steal memories. Once again, it’s Storm who has the most intimate interaction, alluding to the romantic relationship between Gambit and Rogue. Although their voices are not yet present, these dialogues are a clear sign that NetEase Games plans to integrate them as playable characters in the future.

And if that wasn’t enough, hints of yet another mutant - Jubilee - have been dropped. Players who completed the “Hellfire Gala Moments” event unlocked a Gallery Card titled “Night of the Year”. In it, Emma Frost mentions in a conversation that Jubilee is lost in the Timestream Entanglement. Will we see more mutants in the game soon?
