Supermassive Games

Until Dawn remake reveals new cutscenes and deaths in a trailer with a launch window

The State of Play trailer confirms that Supermassive’s mythical game will have all sorts of new features and teases its first release window.

Until Dawn

We were hoping to learn something more about the Until Dawn movie and the release date of its remake in the State of Play on May 30th, but in the end, we have been left halfway. No trace of the movie (on which the screenwriting team of ‘It’, ‘Annabelle’ and ‘The Nun’ is still working) and no trace of the date, although it was at least promised that it would launch at the end of 2024. The only thing we have is a new trailer in which we can see at least some changes compared to the original game, which by the way will be a decade old soon. Especially new scenes and deaths, let’s see how many you can distinguish:

Until Dawn movie has a historic chance

We all know that the Until Dawn movie has the opportunity to do one of the most entertaining and original things in the history of cinema, right? Because at first, it may seem that it makes no sense, that the grace of the game was precisely its plot, and that once you know its “twist”, which is unforgettable, there seems to be no reason to go to the cinema to see it, and at most, it is enough to replay it. But don’t think about the story of the game... think about the structure.

Until Dawn is a game of choices where every game is different. Who lives, who dies and who associates with whom is in your hands. It is a slasher of a lifetime where everything depends on our wisdom of choice. What if there were different versions of the movie? Different cuts and final versions. Depending on which screening we go to, one thing or another would happen. Can you imagine that? It would be exciting to go to the theater and see what you get, and you would even want to repeat it. A project that would be neither cheap nor easy, but that would capture the spirit of the game and propose something that has never been seen before.

Then it will be an ordinary movie, but let’s dream, it’s free.
