Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is coming to Nintendo Switch 2
Update:

SEGA has confirmed that Virtua Fighter series is finally arriving to the Nintendo Switch 2. Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is scheduled to launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 on March 26, 2026. This definitive version of the title, bringing the series’ tight mechanics to a whole new audience, while ensuring veterans have plenty of reasons to jump back into the ring.

One of the most significant benefits for players is the inclusion of full cross-play support. This means that Nintendo Switch 2 users will be able to compete directly against players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. To ensure these cross-platform battles feel as smooth as possible, SEGA is implementing rollback netcode, a feature that has become the gold standard for the fighting game community by minimizing input lag during online matches.

Enhancements and Open Beta Details

Beyond the technical connectivity, the game introduces several gameplay refinements designed to freshen up the competitive meta. Players can expect new moves and combos for the roster, alongside critical balance updates and comprehensive improvements to the training mode. These changes are aimed at making the game more accessible for newcomers while providing the depth that series’ fans demand. For those eager to test their skills early, an Open Beta test will begin on February 18, focusing on stress-testing the network servers and cross-platform performance.

Pre-ordering the game comes with a unique bonus: a “Genesis” hardware customization item that can be equipped by all 19 base characters. Collectors can also look toward the 30th Anniversary Edition, which bundles the base game with DLC packs inspired by the Yakuza series, classic soundtracks, and pre-production artwork. Whether you prefer the $19.99 standard digital version or the $49.99 physical edition—complete with a double-sided poster—this release looks to be the ultimate celebration of 3D fighting history.
