‘Wednesday’ Season 2 will have Tim Burton behind the director’s chair for 4 episodes
Legendary director Tim Burton has just released ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ in theaters, but he’s still got more projects on the way, including his return to ‘Wednesday’ S2.
Tim Burton will return to direct the second season of ‘Wednesday’, the Netflix miniseries starring Jenna Ortega which tells the life of Wednesday Addams, the daughter of the Addams Family who goes to high school and who will have to deal with the supernatural powers she possesses while showing off her strange personality. According to Collider, Tim Burton is set to direct 4 episodes of the upcoming second season of the show.
The creator and screenwriter of the series, Alfred Cough, declared that “it is a blessing to have Tim Burton among us” and compared the production of ‘Wednesday’ to the filming of his latest film, ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’. He said that the director is not enthusiastic about the project because of the contract or the money, but rather because he really loves the material he works with. He has also highlighted the creative connection that exists between himself, Tim Burton, and Jenna Ortega, who will work together again on the series.
Who will we see in season 2 of ‘Wednesday’?
Like the previous season, Jenna Ortega will star in the Netflix series in the role of Wednesday Addams. The actress is gaining more and more notoriety and will become a producer of ‘Wednesday’ in future seasons. Additionally, after having a recurring role in season 1, the bulk of the Addams Family will have more prominence in this second one. Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Isaac Ordóñez return to play Wednesday’s parents and brother. Emma Myers, John Sunday and Fred Armisen will join them. Besides that, Steve Buscemi, Christopher Lloyd, and Thandiwe Newton will join the cast in season 2.
Alfred Gough has recently stated that they are in the middle of production and that Tim Burton is already working on his episodes. The cast returned to the recording set in May, so it seems they will have to wait until the end of 2025 for second season of ‘Wednesday’ see the light.
