Welcome to modern warfare: Battlefield 6 beta crashes servers and queues reach 250,000 players
The Battlefield 6 beta is now available on PC and consoles, but the massive influx of players is causing endless queues.

The highly anticipated multiplayer beta for Battlefield 6 kicks off today, Thursday, August 7, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, but the response from players has been far greater than EA itself expected. Currently, many fans are reporting access issues, with unprecedentedly long queues reaching 250,000 players waiting outside the games. For now, there is no solution to this problem, but it clearly shows the great interest in this war shooter.
Up to 250,000 players in queue: Battlefield 6 beta breaks all records and proves that Call of Duty has a serious competitor this year
From August 7 to 10, 2025, the first stage of the Battlefield 6 multiplayer beta will take place. Although this initial phase is a closed beta with access only via code or by pre-ordering the game, the title’s servers are experiencing serious problems for one main reason: not even the developers themselves expected such a reception. This has led to enormous congestion on the servers, where many players are unable to access the beta, simply limited to extraordinary queues of up to 250,000 players.

To put the figures into perspective, highly anticipated titles such as New World (2021) had queues of up to 25,000 players on their main servers during their launch, which was considered a great success due to the interest the game generated. In other words, the huge queues for Battlefield 6 make it the protagonist of an unprecedented phenomenon in the recent history of video games. Obviously, it is expected that this problem will be fixed by the final launch, as there will be adequate online gaming infrastructure in place; one of the purposes of betas of this type is to measure player peaks.
These figures make it clear that Call of Duty is facing serious competition for the first time in several years. Much of the buzz and renewed interest in the Battlefield franchise is due to one key factor: its return to military realism, leaving behind the more controversial skins with their colorful and garish designs, unsuitable for a battlefield. For both fans who have been there since the beginning and the developers themselves, these kind of marketing decisions inevitably dilute the essence of the series.

Of course, as part of this renewed commitment to realism, the destruction that has characterized Battlefield games is also present. This time around, the physics system is more realistic and spectacular than ever, and we can basically demolish any building we see on the expansive maps where we will fight with and against players from around the world.
Battlefield 6 will be available starting October 10, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Before its release, you can try out the game for the first time: August 7–8 is the first phase of the early access beta, August 9–10 is the first weekend, and August 14–17 is the second weekend.
