Amy Pascal, producer of the Spider-Man franchise, shares the first story details of the new MCU film.

Spider-Man 4′, the new installment of the adventures of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man as part of the MCU, is taking shape as time goes by since its already distant announcement. And is that with a premiere marked for 2026, the shooting should start this coming 2025 again with the famous actor of ‘Uncharted’ as the great protagonist. And although many details about the plot are not yet known - his street or multiversal side is still unclear - the producer of the franchise Amy Pascal has shared the first details of a story that already has a director and a release date: “He decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker,” she said about the character played by Holland.

The doubts of Spider-Man as Peter Parker

Producer Amy Pascal explained to Deadline what ‘Spider-Man 4′ is about, without going into details, just to place Tom Holland’s Peter Parker after the events of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’: “We have to deal with the fact that he decided to give up being Peter Parker and focus on being Spider-Man because being Peter Parker was too hard. So that’s what the movie is about,” Pascal said.

In addition, Pascal has highlighted the filmmaker in charge of carrying out the production, a director who knows the MCU perfectly: “We’re starting shooting the next Spider-Man movie with Destin Daniel Cretton. He’s a wonderful director. I love ‘No Merc’y, I love ‘Short Term 12’, I love ‘Shang-Chi’. I think he did a wonderful job,” the producer continued.

And it is that Destin Daniel Cretton takes over from Jon Watts, after the latter took charge of the previous trilogy of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man as part of the MCU, namely ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ (2017), ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ (2019) and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (2021). Remember that Holland already updated the status of ‘Spider-Man 4′ a few months ago:

“I read it three weeks ago. It really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room like, ‘This is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.' But there’s a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going, but it’s exciting, and I’m really excited about it,” said the actor.
