The second season of ‘The Rings of Power’, the ‘Lord of the Rings’ series on Amazon Prime Video, is fast approaching. It is one of the most beloved franchises that exists and both the books by Tolkien, creator of the universe, and the films by Peter Jackson have millions of fans around the world. As is usual on the eve of this type of premiere, fans gather and discuss their doubts and theories, such as the identity of one of the main villains: Sauron.

The only thing that is cited in the books about an eye does not refer to it having such a shape or having been incarnated in such an ethereal figure, but rather as a way of expressing that Sauron can see everything. Taking these details into account, it is evident that Peter Jackson decided to materialize that way of speaking and take advantage of that eye - probably as a metaphorical concept - to go beyond creating Sauron’s eye, the one that causes nightmares for everyone since Mordor.
