Just like previous years, the presentation is expected to run for around 90 minutes. During this time, viewers can expect world premieres, updates, and announcements for both first-party titles from Microsoft’s internal studios and third-party games that may also release on other platforms.
What to expect at Xbox Games Showcase 2025
Among the highlights, a Gears of War double feature is expected: news on Gears of War: E-Day—a prequel to the iconic saga—and Gears of War Reloaded, a new remaster also confirmed for PlayStation 5. We may also see updates on Perfect Dark, the long-awaited reboot from The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics, which hasn’t been shown since the Xbox Games Showcase 2024.
Other highly anticipated titles include State of Decay 3 and Fable, the latter having been recently pushed back to 2026.

Now that Activision is officially part of Xbox, fans are eager to see what’s next for Call of Duty, with many expecting a first look at the next installment. It’s also likely that Xbox will spotlight other major titles already announced at the Summer Game Fest, such as Resident Evil Requiem.
Could we finally get new footage from ARK 2, originally slated to enter early access in 2025? Other rumored appearances include:
- Persona 4 Reloaded
- A new A Plague Tale installment
- The long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong
- Final Fantasy IX Remake
- And even Kingdom Hearts 4

Xbox is expected to drop plenty of surprises and industry-shaking announcements. However, following Microsoft’s recent strategic shift toward multiplatform releases, it’s highly likely that many games initially announced as Xbox or PC exclusives could also launch on PlayStation 5—just like what happened with Gears of War Reloaded and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Only time will tell whether Microsoft will continue down this multiplatform path in the medium to long term, or if it will eventually tighten its platform ecosystem again.
