What time will Pokémon Legends: Z-A be available to play in the US?

Here are the exact release times in the U.S. and why you might want to mute keywords now.

Update:

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is just a few days away from arriving on Nintendo Switch 1 and Nintendo Switch 2. This spinoff is scheduled to arrive on October 16, and in addition to giving us a new perspective on the Pokémon world, it also brings back the long-awaited Mega Evolutions.

But when will players be able to play this new release? As is already the case with many titles on Nintendo Switch, the game will be available at midnight in each region on October 16. However, there is an interesting change in North America, which has a different mechanism.

What time will Pokémon Legends: Z-A be released in the United States?

Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be available in the United States at the following times, considering that, as in previous launches, Nintendo treats the whole country as a singular region, meaning that outside of the East Coast, the rest of the country will be able to play a little bit earlier.

  • 12:00 am ET (Midnight, October 16)
  • 11:00 pm CT (Wednesday, October 15)
  • 9:00 pm PT (Wednesday, October 15)

Beware, Pokémon Legends: Z-A spoilers are out in the wild

While we review the release date for this game, it’s also worth mentioning that, unfortunately, Pokémon Legends: Z-A was leaked at the end of last week, and the internet is now full of spoilers about the game. Beyond discussing the details of what has been leaked about this installment, it is important to mention that if you are a fan, you should be careful not to fall prey to spoilers on social media, at least until the game is officially released.

In our first impressions of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, we mentioned that “Pokémon Legends: Z-A makes it clear that Game Freak wants to continue exploring new ways to experience Pokémon. Its more dynamic combat system, combat zone mechanics, and the reintroduction of mega evolutions offer a breath of fresh air that blends nostalgia with the need to reimagine the experience.”
