Whatsapp is down: When it will be up and why you can’t message with your phone contacts?

If you’re a Whatsapp user, you’re probably experiencing problems like not getting a message from your friends, family or even acquaintances. And no, you might not be the only one thinking “what a quiet Friday morning” as all indications are that the messaging service is down.
Whatsapp users have been reporting problems for the past hour, according to the Downdetector site. The issues started around 10:20 am ET this morning, but have increased over the past few minutes. Below you can see how the service issues have been reported to Downdetector:
Where to know about Whatsapp service status?
Whatsapp’s official Twitter / X account has not yet commented on the matter and no statement has been issued, but this could be a good sign. The service is currently intermittent, which means that this can be resolved quickly and is not as serious a problem as expected. Anyway, what remains is to wait, and why not take advantage of these quiet moments... and if it is very urgent, make a phone call. For the time being, META’s own status page shows that the Whatsapp Buisiness API problem has been resolved, but people still present with some problems.
When will Whatsapp be back up and running?
Given the importance of the application to the business world and the blow to Whatsapp’s image, the downtime shouldn’t last too long, considering the “Resolved” indicator on the status page.

There, the current crash has already accumulated more than a thousand reports.
