When does ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ arrive on streaming?
The tenth film in the ‘Planet of the Apes’ franchise hit theaters in May and will be available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu in just a few days.
The ‘Planet of the Apes’ franchise has been around for more than 60 years, since it began as a book written by French author Pierre Boulle in 1963, and later made the leap to film in 1968, directed by Franklin Schaffner and starring Charlton Heston. Much has happened since then, with several sequels, a reboot attempt, and a story that began to give the classic saga more of a personality. The latest installment, ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’, the tenth in the franchise, was released in May of this year, and for those who missed it in theaters, you will finally have the opportunity to see it from the comfort of your own home.
Wes Ball’s ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ will hit Hulu on August 2 for those in the US, while the rest of the world will be able to watch it on Disney+.
What is Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes about?
“Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows,” the production company said in its official description. “As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.”
