Epic Games is delaying the start of this new season by several hours due to technical issues and last-minute unforeseen events. When can you play the new Fortnite season, why can’t you log in?
Although Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 was supposed to start at 3:00 AM ET today, Friday, March 8, 2024, Epic Games has announced that they have encountered last-minute issues, which is why the start of the season will be delayed for several more hours. In a post on the X account @FortniteStatus at 9:00 AM ET, they commented that they need “at least 8 additional hours.”
Considering the date of the announcement and the “eight-hour delay” they commented on, this would be the new start date and time for Fortnite C5T2:
Remember that to play Fortnite, you need to update it to the latest version with the game’s patch 29.00. To do this, just try to log in on our preferred platform and the game will automatically detect a new content update to download.
This is the longest delay Fortnite has had for the start of a season in its entire history. While the maintenance time for the start of each new season is usually between two and four hours, the problems that Epic Games faces must be significant, as they need a total of more than twelve hours since the last patch was available.
