What announcements can we expect at the Nintendo Switch 2 presentation?
The cards will be on the table: all questions about Nintendo Switch 2 will be answered. Date, price, bundles, launch catalog... It is the equivalent of what we saw in January 2017, when the company held an international event to demonstrate the capabilities of the console.
First of all, they have to show what’s new in the console, which from the concept we see is very consistent with what’s proposed in the current model. They need to stand out from the crowd and promote their new features, such as the long-rumored mouse mode for the Joy-Con. And what about that damn USB-C port on the top of the case?
We’re also expecting a big graphical leap, and that’s where the updates to the current catalog come into play. As a backwards compatible console, they have the power to give a second life to games that can take better advantage of their technical potential, such as the main The Legend of Zelda or the future Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. A 60 frames per second patch and some visual improvements? We’ll see.

In terms of games, the headliner is the new Mario Kart, present in its video reveal and a fundamental part of the first steps of the console in its new online system that will keep Nintendo Switch Online as a gateway to online features. But at the event for sure we will see faces that will arrive in the coming months. The first Christmas of a console always has a big hit under its arm. Will it be the time for the next Mario 3D? A new chapter of The Legend of Zelda doesn’t seem to be coming anytime soon, and other licenses like Animal Crossing are a better fit when a console refresh is on the horizon.
