When will Marvel Rivals be available to play? Release date, prices, and everything you need to know
Marvel Rivals is almost here, and fans of the comics and stories by the House of Ideas are eager to jump into the multiplayer Hero shooter. Here’s what to expect.
The year is almost coming to an end, but there are still plenty of massive releases that are sure to make waves in the video game industry. One of these is none other than Marvel Rivals, NetEase Games’ 6v6 multiplayer shooter based on the Marvel Multiverse that is set to bring in dozens of characters from the superhero worlds of the House of Ideas into competitive matches.
So when can you start playing, and what can you expect to see once the game releases? Here’s everything we know.
When does Marvel Rivals release?
You won’t have to wait long. As a matter of fact, by the time you read this you won’t have to wait at all, as Marvel Rivals releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC through Steam on December 5, 2024!
This means that the game servers are already active, but as is usual with live-service titles of this kind, it’s very possible that there may be some day-one-woes when trying to connect.
Is Marvel Rivals free?
NetEase Games has always been clear on the fact that Marvel Rivals is completely free to play. This means that there is no cost for anyone to begin playing. The studio has also confirmed that any and all characters that are currently in the game, as well as those to be released further down the line, will be available for all players at no extra cost.
However, as is usual with this type of game, players can expect there to be cosmetic microtransactions in the form of alternate skins and outfits for the heroes, and perhaps seasonal battle passes that allow you to earn rewards.
