Where can I watch ‘Those About To Die’ and how many episodes are there?

Ancient Rome is in full swing this year. If you can’t wait for ‘Gladiator 2′ to premiere in November, or if you just want to immerse yourself in this historical period of European conquest and Colosseum battles, a mega-production from Roland Emmerich (‘Independence Day’, ‘The Day After Tomorrow’), starring Anthony Hopkins is coming out next week. The series is called ‘Those About To Die’ and is set to be one of the big stories of the year.

How many episodes are there and where can I watch ‘Those About to Die’?

The series ‘Those About to Die’ will have a total of 10 episodes, each one hour in length. The series is an original production of Peacock, NBC’s streaming system, so if you are in the United States, that will be the platform on which you can watch it.

On the other hand, if you are outside the United States, the series will also have an international premiere through Prime Video. The series will premiere on July 18th on the US, while depending on the country, the international release will be between July 19th and August 9th.

What is Those About to Die about?

The series is based on the 1958 nonfiction book of the same name by Daniel Mannix, and this is the official synopsis:

Those About To Die is an epic drama set in the corrupt world of the spectacle-driven gladiatorial competition, exploring a side of ancient Rome never before told — the dirty business of entertaining the masses, giving the mob what they want most…blood and sport. The series introduces an ensemble of characters from all corners of the Roman Empire who collide at the explosive intersection of sports, politics, and dynasties.”

The show is written by Robert Rodat, an Academy Award nominee for one of the most important films in Steven Spielberg’s filmography, ‘Saving Private Ryan’.
