Dragon Ball

Where does ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ takes place in the chronology of the anime created by Akira Toriyama

A timeline that takes us back to a mythical era of the series.

Dragon Ball Daima’ is already a reality, and in its first chapter, it has managed to live up to what all ‘Dragon Ball’ fans could dream of. The posthumous work of the incomparable Akira Toriyama surprises from the start, bringing great innovations that enrich his universe, but what many will wonder is at what point in the timeline of his universe does Daima take place.

The series begins with an exercise in nostalgia in the best possible way, with a high level of animation and a gradual introduction to the moment in which the series will take place. The fact that ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ is after ‘Dragon Ball Super’ does not mean that it takes place after the latter, because everything happens before Super. Daima takes place after the death of Kid Buu, the original and pure form of Majin Buu, and although the time between Daima and Super is not specified, the new anime of Akira Toriyama’s popular work takes place almost immediately after the battle against Kid Buu.

The new direction of Akira Toriyama’s legendary work

Dragon Ball Daima is completely canon, and unlike Dragon Ball GT, Master Toriyama was very much involved in this project. Everything that happens in ‘Dragon Ball Super’ happens after the events of Daima, so we have a series that directly follows the events of ‘Dragon Ball Z’ and shows them from the first chapter with a review of the key moments of the last part of the main work.
