Who is Alys Rivers, the Witch Queen of Harrenhal in House of the Dragon, and what are her powers?
The third episode of ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 2 allowed us to meet one of the key characters for the Greens.
‘House of the Dragon’ left several messages for the fans after the broadcast of the third chapter. We saw not only Daenerys Targaryen’s children, but also characters who will play a key role in the upcoming episodes. We refer to the figure of Alys Rivers, a young witch who will be the key in the confrontation between green and black for the conquest of Harrenhal in the full Dance of the Dragons.

Alys Rivers does not live there by chance. She is the illegitimate daughter of Lyonel Strong, former Lord of Harrenhal and Hand of King Viserys I Targaryen. There are many rumors about her parentage. It is said that she showed a deep interest in the magical arts and alchemy from an early age, which would later make her a master of sorcery. The Alys Rivers we see in the series is about 40 years old. Her repertoire of powers allows her to observe people’s pasts and put them under a kind of curse that can end their lives. It is said that much later in the events of ‘House of the Dragon’, she used magical powers to murder some people who were after her.
