Who is Emio? Nintendo stirs the web with mysterious ad: looks like a horror game
With a different way of presenting projects, the Japanese company unveils a sinister smiling man.
Nintendo usually uses its usual events to unexpectedly announce its new games. For this reason, social media is on fire after the short but revealing announcement just shared. It is the following question: “Who is Emio?” accompanied by a short video in which, after several seconds of silence, appears the disturbing figure of a man with a bag on his head, on which is painted a sinister smile.
The publication has been shared by Nintendo accounts around the world, and how could it be otherwise, users are already speculating about it. The most plausible theory seems to be the one that points to a new horror game for Nintendo Switch. There are also those who have remembered Bloober Team, a company that has been working on several unannounced projects for some time and that, as seen with The Medium (Xbox) and Silent Hill 2 Remake (PlayStation), enters the pools of many people.
Nintendo also bets on horror
If the existence of an exclusive horror game is confirmed, it would not be the first time that Nintendo bets on the genre, as more than 20 years ago the acclaimed Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem was released for GameCube, and later both Wii and Wii U received several installments of Project Zero (Fatal Frame).
