Why is Spectrum down? Solutions and when will it be back

If you are a Spectrum user, you are probably experiencing problems with your Internet or TV. Apparently, you’re not the only one who’s having trouble checking your favorite website or watching a movie right now, as all indications are that the service is down.

Users of Spectrum, which provides cable television, Internet and home phone services, have been reporting problems for several hours, (more than 24 hours) according to the Downdetector platform. The problems started around noon yesterday, but have increased over the past few hours. Below you can see how service issues have been reported to Downdetector:

For now, Spectrum has not made any mention of the service outage on its social networks or what its users can do for the time being. For now, you can check their Outage Information and Troubleshooting page to see if there is a problem from your end or if it is more of a problem with the service itself. How to know if the Internet is down?

Sometimes it is not easy to tell if a connection problem is caused by errors in your operator’s service, your router, or even your own device such as a mobile phone, console, or PC. So if you are experiencing problems, the first thing you should do is check to see if you can connect to another device.

If this is not the case, the next step is to go to the Downdetector website, a site where users report problems and outages broken down by operator, time zone of the alerts, and geographical areas. For example, in this link you will find the problems that Spectrum is suffering this morning, which began yesterday  around 12:00 pm and are still continuing in some areas.
