Willem Dafoe surprised Alfred Molina as Dr. Octopus during the filming of ‘Spider-Man 2’

Willem Dafoe as Doctor Octopus? It happened on the set of Spider-Man 2, to the surprise of Alfred Molina himself.

Willem Dafoe Spider-Man

17 years after this great moment, Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina would meet again in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, but long before that, they starred in a funny scene during the filming of ‘Spider-Man 2′, the second installment of the trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. Dafoe, after playing Norman Osborn/Green Goblin in the original film, decided to stop by the set of his sequel to surprise Molina.

Molina, who in this one put himself in the skin - or rather, in the tentacles - of Dr. Otto Octavius (Dr. Octopus), arrived at his workplace ready to film the scene in which he became one of the most popular villains of the Spiderverse. However, he discovered that his place had been taken by a stranger who did not hesitate to interpret said scene in his own brilliant way.

And there is no doubt that Willem Dafoe, thanks to his talent - especially for playing maniacs, it must be said - would have done equally great in the role of any of Spider-Man’s great enemies.

Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man once again triumphed in theaters

Throughout this year we have been able to enjoy again the adventures of our friend and neighbor Spider-Man in his adventures with Sam Raimi, since the films were broadcast again in theaters in recent months. In fact, the first one managed to be the second highest-grossing movie the weekend of its re-release, only surpassed by ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’.
