Apple

With the release of iOS17, these iPhone models will no longer be updated or supported

With the arrival of iOS 17, Apple will end support and update services for three additional iPhone models, forcing their users make the jump to newer devices.

With the September Keynote almost here (everything indicates that it will take place on September 12) and the new iPhone 15 on the horizon, now the question of many Apple users is what will happen to their respective models. Well, Apple has already cleared that up so that we can mentalize ourselves and think about changing our devices.

iPhone models that iOS 17 will not work on

With the release of iOS 17, the company’s new operating system, three iPhone models are no longer getting updates. Neither the iPhone 8, the Phone 8 Plus nor the iPhone X (all of them from 2017) will be able to have the corresponding improvements, ending six years of support and updates. They are joined in obsolescence by the iPhone 6, 6S, SE, and 7(and also its plus versions), which at the beginning of the year were already left without the final updates of iOS 16.

Nonetheless, Apple will continue to offer technical support and repair for these models, as well as light security and stability updates, but that’s it.

What’s new in iPhone 15

As told in the rumor review of the iPhone 15 and its Plus version, it is speculated that the new models are superior to the previous ones in aspects such as battery autonomy and the inclusion of AI (artificial intelligence) to add functions as cutting-edge as a system capable of reading your tone to assess your state of mind.

People say that the iPhone 15 camera is also something that will cause people to talk, with a very advanced periscopic lens and a telephoto sensor for the Pro Max model that will allow you to take photos of the highest quality from far distances. And in terms of prices, they will oscillate between the usual, starting at around $799 and going as high as $1299.

In any case, let no one take anything for granted yet until the September Keynote, as Cook always keeps one more thing up his sleeve for the end…
