‘Wonder Man’ will get a second season on Disney+, achieving something that only two other shows have managed to do
The Marvel Studios series quietly became one of Disney+’s most well-received MCU shows.

Although it didn’t initially attract much attention when it premiered in January, ‘Wonder Man’ became a hit with audiences, earning a 91% rating from critics and an 87% rating from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Given this positive reception, The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Marvel Studios will renew the series for a second season on Disney+.
Although there aren’t many details yet about what to expect from this new season—especially since the series ended on an open-ended note—it’s been confirmed that stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams and Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery will be returning for Season 2, continuing the buddy-like dynamic between their characters. We can also expect executive producer and director Destin Daniel Cretton and showrunner Andrew Guest to be back behind the scenes.
An impressive milestone
As The Hollywood Reporter also notes, Wonder Man’s case is unique, as it is the third series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to receive a second season since Marvel debuted on Disney+ in 2021. The other series in this exclusive club are ‘Loki‚’ which is still considered the best series in the MCU, and the highly acclaimed ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ which moved from Netflix to Disney+ and, coincidentally, premieres its second season tomorrow.

At this time, there are no details on when Season 2 of ‘Wonder Man’ will arrive, but in the meantime, we’ll be able to enjoy the next project from its director, Destin Daniel Cretton, in a few months. He’s been tasked with directing the next adventure of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, which released its first trailer last week and is set to premiere on July 31, 2026.
