Update:

Social network X, still known to many as Twitter, has suffered a widespread outage across the globe. According to Downdetector, the problems began today, November 18, at around 6:20 PM ET. Since then, users have experienced problems accessing the application, especially the desktop version.

X (Twitter) is down today, Tuesday, November 18, 2025: what are the problems? Can they be solved?

At the time of publishing this news item, both the mobile and browser versions are still experiencing errors. Broadly speaking, the page does not load, tweets are not displayed, and it is not possible to post. There are also problems viewing embedded content such as videos and images.

Given that there has been a parallel spike in incidents coinciding with the specified time, everything seems to indicate that the problem is not with X itself, but with Cloudflare, a cloud service on which various platforms, such as Elon Musk’s social network, depend. Cloudflare has already announced that it is aware of the problem and is working to fix it, so at the user level, we don’t need to do anything except wait.

How to find out the status of X/Twitter

If X or any other social network is not working, the best thing to do is visit websites such as Downdetector or Down for Everyone or Just Me. On both pages, we can see if the problem is ours, local, or global. Sometimes it may depend on the internet provider or, as in this case, on an intermediary whose infrastructure is critical to the proper functioning of the platform.

These outages usually only last a few minutes, although in the worst cases, it can take several hours to restore service. Again, we insist that there is nothing users can do, as it is the responsibility of those in charge to resolve the technical issues. In other words: we just have to wait.
