You’re not the only one who’s having trouble fighting strangers during commute, or simply wishing a good day to your followers, as all indications are that the service is down.
X (Twitter) users have been reporting problems for the last minutes today, February 16th, according to the Downdetector platform. The problems started around 8:40 am (ET) this morning but have increased over the past few hours. At the time of writing, both the mobile and browser versions continue to experience errors. The page does not load and tweets are not displayed.

When will X (Twitter) be operational once more?
Given the importance of the application to the microblogging world and the blow to X (Twitter)’s image, the downtime should not last too long. It is likely to be a matter of minutes before they are back up and running, depending on the magnitude of the issue. For now, no information has been provided about the causes of the outage, which usually lasts no more than a few minutes.
Although right now X (Twitter)’s status page is somehow active, the Downdetector website, where users report issues and outages by operator, alert time zone, and geographic location, is one of the website you can go check for any updates on the service’s status. There, the current crash has already accumulated more than a thousand reports.
