Xbox announces its first Developer_Direct of 2026: date, time and games

It only took eight days into 2026 to get a date for the first presentation of the year in the gaming world. Xbox is the first to raise its hand to show what it has in store and announce the date, time, and most importantly, the titles we’ll be able to see at its upcoming Developer_Direct, which will take place in a couple of weeks.

When and what time is the Xbox Developer_Direct?

Developer_Direct 2026 will take place on Thursday, January 22 at 10:00 a.m. PT. and will be available on Xbox YouTube, Twitch and Facebook channels. This time corresponds to the following times across the United States:

• 1:00 p.m. ET
• 12:00 p.m. CT
• 10:00 a.m. PT

What to expect from Developer_Direct in January 2026?

This time around, although there aren’t as many studios involved, Playground Games will be carrying the team on its shoulders. After several teasers and delays over the years, the English studio will finally give us our first extended look at Fable, allowing us to revisit the lands of Albion in what will be one of the most anticipated titles of 2026. Playground Games will also be showing the gameplay debut of Forza Horizon 6, a title that will now take players on a journey through the beautiful landscapes of Japan.

And speaking of Japan, the studio that stands out the most is Game Freak, offering an in-depth look at what Beast of Reincarnation will be like. This single-player title was revealed at last year’s Xbox Games Showcase and shows that the studio can do more than just Pokémon, letting players control Emma and her canine companion Koo in a post-apocalyptic Japan.
