Xbox leaks the release date for Forza Horizon 6, and it’s a bombshell that will arrive much sooner than you think

No one saw this bombshell coming right before Developer Direct. An in-game advertisement in Forza Horizon 5 has revealed the highly anticipated release date of its sequel. We’re going to Japan much sooner than we expected.

The leak suggests that Forza Horizon 6 will arrive on May 19. As with previous editions, early access will begin on May 15 for users who have the Premium edition. Here’s what it will bring, according to the screenshot:

• 4-day early access
• VIP membership
• Welcome Pack
• Car Pass
• Time Trial Car Pack
• Italian Passion Car Pack (coming after launch)
• Two premium expansions (coming after launch)

The announcement reveals some juicy details, such as the number of cars. Forza Horizon 6 will include “over 550 real cars” in what will be the “biggest open world driving adventure yet” through the “breathtaking landscapes of Japan.” And if you pre-order, you’ll receive the Ferrari J50, a very special car from the Italian brand. Only 10 models were produced in 2016 to coincide with Ferrari’s 50th anniversary in Japan. Will it be the car chosen for the cover? Maybe, although it is customary in the series for the protagonist to be a strictly current model. We’ll see.

Forza Horizon 6 will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC (included in Game Pass); it will be released on PS5 at a later date.
